Superstitions

Abstract version of the Superstition mountain desert landscape in Arizona where I used to live. I used colored pencils and acrylics on the underpainting with oil pastels as the top layer. It is on heavy duty artist paper and is varnished with high quality materials to protect the piece for a lifetime.

I used a muted color palette of pinks and greens with hints of blue and purple peeking through. It measures at 10 x 7 inches total, with a 1 inch border surrounding the entire piece. The actual painting without the border is 5 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches. It would look great matted in a frame.
